Technical Details:

Cured in Place liners are used by LDC's to seal leaks in aging steel and cast iron piping. However the liners have limited structural strength to resist external loading that would occur if a portion of the pipe corrodes locally. This project investigates different materials and composites that may add structural resistance to liner materials.

This project was completed with the successful demonstration of a composite liner that withstood loadings that would be present in a partially deteriorated gas pipe 20 ft below the water table.
