Technical Details:
Develop a resource to provide a continual flow of new non-gas technology concepts that, if successfully developed for gas applications, would provide the natural gas industry with quantum leaps in gas operations or customer service. Assess the merits and feasibility of highly innovative ideas and technologies that could lead to practical solutions, products, and new opportunities for future use on the transmission and distribution gas system.

While the evolutionary technologies being developed by NYSEARCH, and other industry research groups, continue to provide significant results, the identification and development of new technologies, radically different from the ones used by utilities, could result in dramatic increases in operational efficiencies. Oracle is designed to canvass and identify promising technologies in the areas of monitoring and data acquisition, advanced sensors, sensory design, detection technologies, and develop a framwork for adopting them into the gas industry. This effort will identify and develop the research and development needs, potential R&D organizations to conduct the work, and the workscope for the issuance of Request for Proposals.
