Technical Details:
Flame ionization detection is commonly used
by utility survey crews for leak surveys. An
alternate technology, optical methane detection,
has been developed and commercialized for vehicle-based
leak survey operations. This project will develop and field test a prototype of a low power hand held methane detector. The project goals were met, and further development of the device is funded through the OTD program.
