This project involves a comparative analysis
of existing soil compaction measuring devices.
The ultimate objective of the project is to
convince governmental agencies that alternates
to the nuclear densometer exist for measuring
soil compaction.
Six different compaction measuring devices were tested and results were distributed to the project funders. A follow on phase of the project is funded separately through Operations Technology Development (OTD) and involves making modifications to selected devices so they can replace the nuclear densitometer as the standard for compaction measurement.
